For the 7th consecutive year, Positive Athlete, an organization started by former Steeler great and Super Bowl XL MVP Hines Ward, will be awarding college scholarships to high school student-athletes based more on their character than their athletic performance. Over $100,000 in college scholarships have been award since the program’s inception in 2011.
Nominations are now officially OPEN! We invite coaches, parents, family members, school administrators, and fans to nominate their favorite high school student athletes and coaches that embody the "Seven Definitions of a Positive Athlete!" Nominating an athlete is a very simple process done online at Positive Athlete Website, and athletes can be nominated by parents, coaches, teachers, administrators or fans of high school student- athletes grades 9-12. We are looking for athletes who have overcome difficult circumstances, given back to their schools and communities, or just have an infectious positive attitude.
Awarded to a Positive High School male and female athlete who has exemplified courage, determination, and positivity in the face of adversity while overcoming a sport related injury.
